SINULOG 2016

A Celebration

Sinulog Festival is one of the biggest event in the country. It is celebrated on the month of January. It is the feast day of our Sto. Niño in which a hundred of people is expected to be in the Basilica Minor del Sto. Niño to praise and to give thanks for another year of celebrating Sinulog.
It represents the festival in Cebu City which makes local and international tourist visits the place of event.

Solemn Procession of the Miraculous Image of Sto. Niño

This place is called Plaza Independencia Cebu, when we went here during Sinulog this place was also packed. People were setting up a small territory for them to eat with their family. It is like a bit of camping type but they are not sleeping there t is just to celebrate Sinulog for a day. It was such a nice way to create memories with their family and relatives.

During Sinulog Festival, all kinds of food are being display at the side of the road and you can see that each food stall are all packed. So for those people who wants to visit Sinulog next year, don't worry if you are hungry because food is everywhere. As long as you bring your money, there will be no problem at all.

This is our picture when we went to Sto. Niño to attend the mass, to celebrate and to experience the Festival. It was an unforgettable experience because even though it was really crowded, we didn't give up on enjoying the day.

S.M. Cebu City and Ayala Center Cebu both celebrated Sinulog by opening a fireworks event for the people who are also celebrating the Sinulog Festival.

Q-Park in Cebu!

Q-Park is located in the northern part of Cebu Province. It is in the Municipality of Compostela, between Liloan and Danao City in the Philippines. This is an on-going project of Norberto Quisumbing Jr.’s family and the Norkis Group. It is “A legacy to the Filipino people and a place to remember” as the owners call it.
It is a 200-hectare land and is inviting the public to view the wonderful area for free. It is open every day from 8 o’clock in the morning up to 7 o’clock in the evening. Since the complex is under development, everyone is advised to be careful always. On-going renovations are the Girl’s Camp and Boy’s Camp which is very perfect for recollection/retreat activities, the resting area, the station of the cross, the nativity cave and the heroes’ hill and the road.

The Heroes’ Hill in Q Park Cebu, which is about a hectare in size, is only open by invitation or by request. It is not totally open to the public because they want to maintain it as a sacred and peaceful place. It is a place to give tribute to unknown soldiers, OFW’s and awardees of the Filipino Foundation from 1986-2003. An anahaw-roofed kiosk is visible inside the hill. It contains portraits of Filipino Statesmen and Philippine Presidents. The area is full of wonderful flowers and fish ponds.

Every Lenten season Q Park is visited by a lot of Locals and Foreigners. On Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, they celebrate the Holy mass at 3:00 PM.

The park is the perfect place to reflect and pray. With the breeze of cool air and the sounds of nature, soul searching and asking for penitence will be a pleasure. The place has a very large statue of Mother Mary. It is very peaceful and has a scenic view which can definitely take your breath away. It’s now your time to reflect and unwind from your daily pressures from work at Q Park Cebu.

The Carmen Plaza.

One of the nicest town plazas in the North is one in Carmen. The park has benches, playgrounds, fountains and a relaxing view of the sea. The plaza, facing the Carmen Municipal Building, can be seen right beside the national highway. The plaza is perfect for high noon strolls and chats as huge trees shade most of the benches. Young people frequently go in this plaza at noon 'til night for non-stop chit-chats and bonding.

It is located in Loay Interior Road, Carmen, Cebu City and also has street food carts and stores to accompany your hungry tummies and to chill while strolling in the plaza. The next time you're in town, make sure to drop by Carmen's Park for a relaxing view and unforgettable Carmen experience. ;)

Summer Memories!!

PANDANON ISLAND

The port that we went to was in Datag-Baybayon, Pajac-Mactan Rd, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. You can choose whether to book a pump-boat for a specific date or go there directly, there will be no problem because once you arrive to the port someone will approach you and will ask if you want to rent a pump-boat to go to an island. It is good to go there early in the morning so that you can still choose the pump-boat that you like. The cost depends on the size of the pump-boat that you will choose. But if you want a pump-boat that will accommodate 10-15 person the cost will be P3,000-3,500 but it can still be change into lower price depending on how you negotiate. I suggest to bring your own food because it is nice to have a barbecue party inside the pump-boat and it is also to save money because the price of the food in Pandanon is a little bit expensive.

After an hour, you will reach the Island which the Bohol can be seen if it's a clear day. Pandanons' entrance fee is P150.00 per head including the children and the cottage is worth P250.00 that is for the whole day. There are small stores in Pandanon Island but it is good if you will follow what I have suggested.

Hot Summer! AH! Hot! Hot! Summer!

Pandanon Island is popular for having a wide white sand. It is nice to stroll around the island  because you can notice the people enjoying the white sand. There are people who are relaxing, sunbathing, swimming and other activities. You can also see the people who lived to the island selling sea food products and unique items that is good for keeping it as remembrance. So, it is the perfect place for you and your friends/family to start your summer experience.

That's it!! Thank you! Hope that it will help you.
